A TOP trader in Bacolod City said the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) will make available about P25 million as loans to small entrepreneurs in the province next year.
Frank Carbon, president of the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI), said the DOST loan offers a small interest to help the small entrepreneurs survive and boost their business to bolster the country's economy.
This year, 14 small entrepreneurs were able to avail themselves of the loan, which ranges from P1 million to P2 million each. The loan amount will be determined depending on the business of the applicant, he said.
MBCCI partners with DOST for the program, especially in the identification and determination of the entrepreneur applicant.
A total of P20 million was released through loans by the DOST this year under such program.
Carbon said that interested small entrepreneurs can come to their office for inquiries. (Teresa D. Ellera)
