THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is now intensifying its checkpoint operations in different areas of Bacolod to preempt the possible operation of robbery hold-up suspects, especially this lean month season.
BCPO Operations Branch head Police Senior Inspector Lester Leada said Sunday all the station commanders were reminded to intensify their police integrated patrol system within their area of responsibility and the conduct of checkpoint operations.
He said from the months of August to September 2012, as per instructions of City Director Ricardo De la Paz, all the station commanders are on full alert to monitor the possible operation of lawless elements within their area of responsibility, especially the riding-in-tandem suspects.
Leada said that about 100 police personnel from Regional Public Safety Batallion were deployed in BCPO to augment the different police stations.
He said several personnel from the PNP Regional Training School were also deployed in different police stations as part of their field training program.
He said they will also tap the help of force multipliers such as village watchmen to monitor their respective barangays.
He said this lean month season, they expect the increase of crimes against property with the average of 25–50 percent, especially in the area of Stations 1, 2, 3 and 4. (Merlinda A. Pedrosa)
