Lawmaker to facilitate seminar for war vets

THE Office of 5th district Representative Alejandro Mirasol will facilitate a seminar on hospitalization program of the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) and Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC).
This is to address the benefits of the World War II veterans and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) retirees and their dependents.
The event will be held on August 18 at the Binalbagan Conference Hall.
PVAO is an agency of the Philippine government under the Department of National Defense (DND) responsible for administering veterans' benefits, implementing programs and projects to enhance their general welfare, and instituting measures to memorialize their patriotism and heroism.
The Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC), formerly known as the Veterans Memorial Hospital, is tasked to provide the best quality of hospitalization, medical care and treatment to veterans and their dependents and to a limited number of civilian and Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) patients.
Mirasol said only limited slots are available thus, a confirmation is needed not later than August 13.
