2 jai alai bet collectors arrested

TWO suspected jai alai bet collectors were arrested in separate operations in different areas in Bacolod City on Thursday.
The suspects were identified as Ramonito Alegayda, 66, of Corner Gonzaga-Rizal Streets, Bacolod City, and Argie Dacamos, 25, of Escalante City, Negros Occidental.
Station 1 commander Police Chief Inspector Adonis Rosales said Alegayda was nabbed after he was caught in the act collecting bet money of jai alai at Bacolod Central Market around 5:45 p.m.
Police recovered from him several tipsters with codename “Bullseye,” betting stub, ballpen and P30 bet money.
Meanwhile, Station 10 commander Police Senior Inspector Terence Paul Sta. Ana said Dacamos was nabbed after he was caught soliciting bet money at Purok Mabinuligon, Barangay Handumanan around 8:50 p.m.
He said bundles of betting stubs, tipsters with codename “Bullseye,” tally sheets and P100 bet money were recovered from his possession.
The suspects are presently detained at the lock up cell of Stations 1 and 10. (MAP)
