Woman nabbed in drug raid

A SUSPECTED drug pusher was arrested in a raid by operatives of City Anti-Illegal Drugs Operations Task Group (CAIDSOTG) in this city on Friday morning.
Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Director Ricardo De la Paz identified the suspect as Jean Marie Cantero alias ‘Gaga’, 25, of Abada Escay, Barangay Vista Alegre while her live-in partner Julymar Segurada alias ‘Nonoy’, 25, was not in the area during the apprehension at 6:30 a.m.
De la Paz said Cantero, containing several plastic sachets of suspected shabu, was arrested by virtue of search warrant for illegal drugs issued by Judge Anita Chua of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 51.
He said the live-in partner of Cantero was also arrested last year for illegal possession of illegal drugs but he managed to post his bail, noting that Segurada and Cantero were also in the drugs watch list of BCPO.
De la Paz added most of the customers of the suspects were students.
Cantero is presently detained at the lock up cell of BCPO headquarters while Segurada is still at-large.
BCPO has intensified their campaign against illegal drugs in the and also tapped the help of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils to monitor and identify the drug personalities within their respective barangays. (Merlinda A. Pedrosa)
