American wanted in Bacolod nabbed in Davao

AN AMERICAN national with a pending arrest warrant was nabbed in a joint operation by the Davao City police and Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS) in Davao last Friday.
WSS head Charles Gever identified the suspect as Sidney Highsmith, 33, an American and resident of Villa Conchita, Rivera Village, Davao City.
Gever said they went to Davao City last Friday to apprehend the suspect who has a pending arrest warrant in Bacolod City for violation of Republic Act 9262. or Anti-Violence against Women and their Children.
He said they immediately asked the assistance of the Davao City police and apprehended the suspect.
The suspect, he added, failed to post bail in Davao City and was endorsed in Bacolod City. He is now detained at the lockup cell of Station 4.
In a related development, a teenager was nabbed by operatives of Station 8 at Purok Pag-asa, Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City Saturday evening.
Station 8 commander Jerick Filosofo identified the suspect as Jessie Daniles Jr., 18, of Purok Maninihon 2, Barangay Singcang-Airport.
Filosofo said that around 10:15 p.m., they received a call that the suspect forcibly entered the compound of Cheryl Agravante, Darlyn Gavieta, Tony Espanilla and Jonel Tugade at Purok Pag-asa, Barangay Singcang-Airport.
He said the suspect threatened them by pointing at them an improvised firearm or sulpak.
Filosofo said when they responded to the area, the suspect kicked one of the apprehending police officers and a short scuffle ensued.
Police recovered from the suspect one improvised firearm or sulpak and one live ammunition of 12 gauge shotgun.
Daniles is now detained at the lockup cell of Station 8. (MAP)
