City dad lauds appointment of Roxas as DILG Secretary

BACOLOD City Mayor Evelio Leonardia lauded the appointment of then DOTC Secretary Manuel Roxas II as the new DILG secretary assuming the post of the late Jesse Robredo.

Leonardia said the appointment of Roxas is another brilliant stroke taken by President Benigno Aquino III.

"With his competence, dynamism and political savy, only Mar can fill the vacuum created by our loss of the much-admired Jesse Robredo," he said.

DILG is a very major component in nation building and it deserves a leader of the caliber and mold of Roxas.

"We look forward to the advancement and acceleration of the gains of ‘excellence in local governance’ under the watch of Secretary Mar. We also join our fellow Ilongos in celebrating this milestone in Western Visayas politcal history," he said. (Carla N. Canet)
