Parents condemn delay in release of school bags, supplies

"READY, thumbs up, smile," a city photographer usually asked the school children with the city officials at the ceremonial distribution of the bags and school supplies to public elementary pupils in Bacolod.
But one time, at Patricia Elementary School in Barangay Granada, some parents in the city reacted about an instance, where ten pupils were asked to join the city officials for the ceremonial turn over and after that nothing else happened.
This matter has reached the attention of Councilor and chairman of the City Council Committee on Education, Homer Bais, who was surprised and quite embarrassed by what happened.
Bais said they were only informed about the schedule of distribution but as to the whole process of how it is being distributed to the beneficiaries already fall on the General Services Office and Secretary to the Mayor Moises dela Cruz.
Bais said he will address this matter and personally deliver the bags and school supplies to the said school. (Carla N. Canet)
