Justice Department subpoenas Ilog mayor, others in Arles case

THE Department of Justice (DOJ) has issued subpoenas to the complainants and alleged suspects relative to the killing of Kabankalan City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Henry Arles.
The subpoena was received by lawyer Albert Arles, son of the late Judge who filed the murder charges against Mayor John Paul Alvarez of Ilog, Eman Medez, Gerald Tabujara, Marvin Salve, Vincent Capunong, Jessie Daguia, and Eddie Fortunado who are now at the custody of National Bureau of Investigation in Manila.
The subpoena was issued by Assistant State Prosecutor Vimar Barcellano.
"Under and by virtue of the authority vested upon the undersigned prosecutor, you are hereby to appear at the DOJ at Padre Faura St., Ermita, Manila on September 4 and 18 at 2 p.m. in line with the preliminary investigation of the instant case," the subpoena stated.
Arles was assassinated on April 24, 2012 while on his way home in Barangay Manalad, Ilog. (Teresa D. Ellera)
