Electric coop implements regular power rates

THE Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) is implementing its regular rates at P9.70 per kilowatt hour for its billing this month.
Ceneco has temporarily implemented a P1 per kilowatt hour increase last month due to the repairs done in some units of Kepco Salcon's Coal Fired Power Plant that's why Ceneco sourced out some of its power requirements from the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM).
This was confirmed by Atty. Arnel Lapore, president of Ceneco board.
Meanwhile, Lapore said that Ceneco is computing the volume of its contracted capacity from PSALM 2010 after Silfred Billena, president of Philreca, allegedly issued that there are 90 electric cooperatives which will be benefited by the refund at the tune of P4.3 billion for the 90 coops.
"As to how much is the share of Ceneco, we wouldn’t know yet, as we were not the one who filed the complaint. But take note, PSALM disputed the claim and PEMC manifested that it is difficult to determine the amount of the alleged overcharging," Lapore said.
