City urged to release MassKara funds for barangays

THE city committee on tourism urged the release of the fund assistance to the participants of the MassKara Barangay Street dance competition and Electric MassKara performing float competition.
Bacolod City Councilor Sonya Verdeflor, member of the City Council committee on tourism and local, international cooperation, has requested the Office of the City Mayor.
She said the preparations for the MassKara Streetdance Competition and Electric MassKara Performing Float Competition have already commenced in the participating barangays of Bacolod City, considering that the famous MassKara festival will be celebrated next month.
The said participating barangays have to incur the costs for the expenses during practices of their dancers as well as the expenses for the dancer’s costumes, props, the professional fees for their respective choreographers, among others.
She added that Bacolod MassKara Festival will already start on October 1, 2012.
