COUNCILOR Em Ang has urged the Bacolod City Police Office to implement a more aggressive campaign against the rising criminality, involving snatchers and hold uppers riding in tandem on motorcycles.
The riding-in-tandem criminals have become bolder in their criminal activities not only in Metro Manila and Luzon but also in the Visayas including Bacolod City.
The BCPO reports showed that in 2011, some 1,700 crime incidents were reported to have been committed by criminals riding in tandem, victimizing 2,089 citizens, as compared in 2010 where there were 1,565 incidents against 1,819 victims.
She believes there is a need for the Bacolod City Police Office to increase its campaign against these criminals and to institute appropriate measures to ensure the safety and security of the citizens.
