THE City Council Committee of Laws, Ordinances and Good Government chaired by Councilor Caesar Distrito held a preliminary hearing against five barangay kagawads, who face raps for abuse of authority, oppression, dereliction of duty and misconduct in office.
The case was filed by Cristita Redil, a resident of the same barangay and staff of Councilor Mona Dia Jardin.
The five kagawads are Felipe Hilado, Sanny Barcenal, Milagros Casilangan, Joel Lavarro and Rodrigo Tamayo.
The complaint is about the alleged insults and criticisms that were thrown by the five kagawads against Redil during a meeting of the purok presidents and leaders in Barangay Felisa.
Redil mentioned in her complaint-affidavit that on June 14, 2012 that she was called for a meeting by the kagawads and was told to explain about the signature gathering that she and the purok leaders were doing for the recall of the same kagawads. She was then confronted and bombarded with insults, criticisms, and defamations and was severely embarrassed in front of many people.
She added that she immediately reported the incident to Police Station 10 and filed a complaint against them in the City Council. (Carla N. Canet)
