THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Director Ricardo De la Paz said Friday that they have been the number one in Western Visayas in campaigning against illegal gambling from January to August 31, 2012.
De la Paz said Police Regional Office records showed that, for the said period, BCPO has a total of 281 persons arrested for illegal gambling, followed by Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Noppo) with 125 persons arrested.
“The records showed that BCPO is consistent in the campaign on illegal gambling since last year, where BCPO was also ranked as number one,” he said.
De la Paz pointed out that, because of their intensified campaign, from four jai alai operators, it now reduced into two with codenames “Bullseye” and “Untat.”
The city director assured they will continue the campaign in Bacolod to neutralize all jai alai operators. (Merlinda A. Pedrosa)
