Ceneco lowers rate to P8.38/KWH

ELECTRIC consumers under the coverage area of Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) will enjoy lower rates in their monthly billing this September.
Lawyer Arnel Lapore, president of Ceneco, said from P10.70 per kilowatt hour the consumers will enjoy a lowered rate at P8.38 per kilowatt hour that would be reflected in this month’s billing.
Lapore said the lower rate is reflected, as Kepco Salcon which is the source of the bulk of electricity of Ceneco, will shoulder the differential billing from the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM). This as the outage period under their contract with Kepco has already lapsed due to the repairs done by the power producer on Kepco 2 plants.
The lower rates will be reflected on the Generation Charge in the consumers’ bills, Lapore also said.
"We are hoping to maintain this lowered rates in the succeeding months," Lapore further said.
Ceneco's regular rates is pegged at P9.70 per kilowatt hour.(TDE)
