NEGROS Occidental governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. revealed Monday that thousands are expected to join the convention of the United Negros Alliance (UNA) next week.
"We are still looking for a bigger venue. Maybe we will hold it at the Paglaum Sports Complex," Marañon said.
Marañon said he will stick with UNA that would still be combination of the members of major political parties like the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC), Lakas, Liberal Party, Nacionalista Party and other parties.
He reiterated that he will announce his running mate during that convention, including the national party that will enlist him for the 2013 elections.
The names of La Carlota City Mayor Juliet Marie Ferrer and Fourth District Board Member Joben Alonzo are being floated to be among the possible running mate of Marañon.
Major planters group in the province has reportedly pledged support for Marañon in his reelection bid in the 2013 elections.
