A FIVE-day-old baby boy was reported missing Friday morning inside the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH).
Women and Children Complaints Desk (WCCD) head Police Inspector Jovy Cabcaban said that at 2 a.m. Friday, the mother discovered that her baby was already missing from her side.
According to the baby's father, he met an old female friend when he arrived in the hospital. They became friends from Bredco Port in 2005 where he was working, Cabcaban said.
Cabcaban said the father introduced his friend to his wife, who delivered their baby last September 17. When the father left the hospital, his female friend stayed in the side of his wife.
The mother of the child fell asleep and didn’t notice that the woman and her baby were already gone, Cabcaban said, adding that the witnesses claimed that they saw a woman took the baby, but thought that it was a relative of the patient.
Cabcaban said further investigation is still ongoing to locate the suspect and recover the baby. (Merlinda A. Pedrosa)
