Indian national commits suicide

AN INDIAN national, who is scheduled to marry his girlfriend within this month, was found dead Friday when he allegedly hanged himself in his rented house at City Heights Subdivision, Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City.
Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Director Ricardo De la Paz identified the victim as Gurdep Singh, 25, Indian national engaged in lending business in the said city.
De la Paz said the body of the victim was found hanging with a cloth at the kitchen by his helper Lucy Suico around 6:30 a.m.
He added they are now waiting for the result of the investigation conducted by personnel of Scene of the Crimes Operatives (Soco) to determine if there was foul play in said incident.
Initial investigation showed there were no stolen items inside the house of the victim, no items in disarray and his P11,400 cash and cellular phone are still intact.
The city director added that, last Thursday, the girlfriend of the victim arrived here from India since their wedding, arranged by their parents, was already scheduled within this month.
De la Paz said before the incident, the victim was seen celebrating a party with his girlfriend and their friends in the same city.
The friends of Singh were also surprised when they learned that he committed suicide.
The personnel of Station 6 are still conducting further investigation to determine why the victim committed a suicide. (Merlinda A. Pedrosa)
