Rerouting set for MassKara Festival

THE traffic plan for the upcoming MassKara Festival is all set to ensure the flow of traffic from October 1 to 22, 2012, Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Director Ricardo De la Paz said Friday.

De la Paz said the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) will start the rerouting at 5 p.m. from October 1 to 22, where some areas along Bacolod Public Plaza will be closed. From October 19 to 21, during the Electric MassKara, rerouting will also be implemented along Lacson Street.

BTAO head Police Chief Inspector Luisito Acebuche said public utility jeepneys (PUJs) with route Homesite and Fortunetown from north going to south will pass these areas: Burgos Street to Reclamation Area, San Sebastian Street, San Juan Street, Yulo Street, Lizares Street, Araneta Street, Roxas Street or Magsaysay Avenue and Lacson Street all the way back to origin.

He said PUJs with route Mandalagan from point of origin will pass the areas of Lacson Street, Gatuslao corner Burgos Streets, Reclamation Area, San Sebastian Street, San Juan Street, Rosario Street, Yulo Street, Lizares Street straight ahead to Libertad Extension, Locsin Street, Rizal Street and Gatuslao street all the way back to origin.

PUJs with route Banago from point of Origin will pass the areas of Lacson Street, San Juan Street corner Burgos Streets, Reclamation Area, San Sebastian Street, San Juan Street, Rosario Street, Yulo Street, Lizares Street straight to Rosario Street, Locsin Street, Rizal Street, and Gatuslao Street all the way back to origin.

PUJ with route Bata from point of origin will pass Lacson Street corner Burgos Street, Burgos Street, Reclamation Area, San Sebastian Street, Araneta Street, Lizares Street, Hernaez Street, Locsin Street, Rizal Street, and Gatuslao Street all the way back to origin.

PUJ with route Shopping from point of origin will take Lacson Street corner Burgos Street, Burgos Street, Reclamation Area, San Sebastian Street, Araneta Street, Lizares Street, Hernaez Street, Locsin Street and Burgos Street all the way back to origin.

PUJ with route Alijis, Punta Taytay, and Singcang-Airport from point of origin will take Araneta Street, San Sebastian Street, Lacson Street, Lacson Extension, Alijis Road, Araneta Street and back to origin.

Acebuche said about 98 traffic enforcers will be assigned in different areas of the city during the festival. (Merlinda A. Pedrosa)
