Golez: Nobody can stay in power forever-A A +A
Tuesday, September 25, 2012
BACOLOD City Rep. Anthony Golez, Jr. said nobody stays in power forever, thus a politician needs to keep his old and true friends so that when he retires from government service, he still has his true friends with him.
He said one should not be intoxicated by power as if those who are in power are indispensable.
In politics, many people claim friendship with the one in power, but those who are in power should value old and true friends as when they go back to private life, he can still have his friends with. It is important that one should not be a traitor to his friends.
Golez when he was asked how he would he describe Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia as a politician he was with before, he said, "Who am I to describe him? If only the previous political bigwigs in Bacolod are still alive just like the dearly beloved former Bacolod Reps. Ramon Guanzon and Alfredo Montelibano, Jr., they can best describe Mayor Leonardia."
But on his part, it is better to serve the people with your utmost sincerity and avoid being a traitor so that you can sleep soundly and wake up inspired the next day.(CNC)
