VICE mayoralty aspirants lawyer Renecito Novero and businessman Vladimir Gonzalez will not waver in their plans to seek election in the Bacolod City in the May 2013 polls.

Novero is a member of the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC) whose name was included in the list submitted by the group of Mayor Evelio Leonardia, but former City Councilor Greg Gasataya was chosen as the official NPC candidate for vice mayor.

Novero said: "It has been their past decision that they will not choose me. I know that they will choose one from their group, the reason why I like them to finalize their slate so that they will have peace in their group. It is given that they will not choose me. I did not present or offer myself to them and they did not likewise offer themselves to me.”

“There were people who facilitated if it is possible for us to join in one party but I knew that there is no chance for me to be chosen by their group. I am just civil to acknowledge the situation that they will not choose me," he said.

Novero expressed his gratitude that they included him in the list of possible candidates for vice mayor under the NPC party.

Meanwhile, Gonzalez said Gasataya is a deserving candidate that has proven himself as a councilor.

Gonzalez is waiting for the final endorsement of the group of mayoralty aspirant Monico Puentevella as there is no final decision yet if he will be the vice mayoralty candidate of Puentevella or not.

As to his chances against Novero and Gasataya, Gonzalez said, "Both of them are previous city officials. They have edge over me. It is a question that, during their term, what have they done? People will be asking it and the reason why they will run again. What they have to offer? On my end, being a new comer, I will be presenting my platform of government and the things that I have envisioned for Bacolod.”

In terms of legislation, he said he can study it and his party mates, lawyers Jocelle Sigue, Ana Marie Palermo, and Bong Dilag, can help him carry out the legislative function. (Carla N. Canet)
