THE regular session of the Provincial Board (PB) was suspended again on Wednesday for lack of quorum.
Of the 15 members of the PB, only seven were present during the roll-call ordered by the presiding officer, Vice Governor Genaro Alvarez.
Those who were present were Board Members Raul Rivera, Thea Mae Dino, Pedro Zayco, Patrick Lacson, Renato Gustilo, Joben Alonzo and Frederick Ko.
Absent were Board Members Dino Yulo, Helen Zafra, Mae Javellana, Salvador Escalante, Miller Serondo, George Gitano, Nehemias Dela Cruz and Melvin Ibañez.
The PB secretariat announced that except for Ibañez who is still in the US, those who were absent in Wednesday’s session attended the Negros Trade Fair at Rockwell Tent in Makati.
The board was supposed to take up the ordinance authorizing Governor Alfredo Marañon to negotiate with the Land Bank of the Philippines and to sign loan documents in behalf of the province for P170 million for the Phase 2 of the Negros First Cyber Park and P10 million for the additional classrooms for the Negros Occidental High School.
The controversial budget was not taken up by the PB members for several sessions already. (TDE)
