ONE of the suspects who killed Kabankalan City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Henry Arles was turned over Thursday to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City.
Chief Inspector Gilbert Peremne, BJMP head, said the suspect Alejandro Capunong Jr. was turned over by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Manila around 11 a.m. to face charges of illegal possession of firearms.
Peremne said they checked Capunong’s documents and medical condition when the latter was turned over to them by the NBI.
Capunong and his companions Eddie Fortunado and Jessie Daguia are accused of killing the judge last April 24. They have been placed under the custody of the NBI in its headquarters in Manila after their apprehensions in Negros Occidental.
Peremne said Capunong will undergo orientation and one-week quarantine, after which he can join with the other inmates inside BJMP.
Peremne said the quarantine is part of the BJMP's procedure so that the suspect will know the policies inside the BJMP.
He assured that since Capunong was involved in Arles case, there will be no special treatment toward him and those who want to visit him should also follow the policies of BJMP. (Merlinda A. Pedrosa)
