A SAFETY officer of SeaOil Philippines Inc. died while being treated at the Riverside Medical Center after he was found lying inside the tank farm of SeaOil Depot, Reclamation Area, Bacolod City, Thursday morning.
Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Director Ricardo De la Paz identified the victim as Noel Nopueto, 45, of Makati City.
Police Officer 2 Leomel Guinanao, Station 2 case investigator, said the victim was found by his co-workers around 7:08 a.m.
He said the victim reported in their office around 6:30 a.m. but at 7:08 a.m., he was found lying inside the tank farm.
Nopueto was in charge of conducting gas testing in the depot to determine if there is a gas leakage to avoid explosion in the area.
Guinanao said Nopueto was already pale blue when he was found. The victim was immediately rushed to the Riverside Medical Center but, around 7:30 a.m., he was declared dead by his attending physician.
Investigation showed that the victim has no external wounds to indicate that he was mauled or that a third party was involved in his killing, De la Paz added.
An autopsy will be conducted to ensure that there is no foul play in said incident. (Merlinda A. Pedrosa)
