LAWYER Lyndon Caña on Friday appealed to Bacolodnons to help strengthen the so-called “Conscience Bloc” in the city whom he considers as his vehicle to Congress.
Caña, who once served as Councilor of Bacolod from 2004 to 2007, has offered himself as an alternative candidate for the Lone District of Bacolod running as an independent candidate.
He ran as Vice Mayor in 2010 and he almost won the race, Caña cited his victory when he ran as Vice Mayor in 2010 when he lost the race because of the so-called “command votes.”
He said it was a painful experience that, because of the dictate of poverty, other sectors were inevitably swayed and lured by election money.
“Let us strengthen the conscience bloc, democracy and Christianity in our city by giving conscience bloc their own choice of a candidate,” he said.
He said he will not stop the people to receive money during election but he appealed to them to vote according to their conscience.
Caña will be challenging incumbent Congressman Anthony Golez Jr. and congressional candidate Mayor Evelio Leonardia. (Carla N. Canet)
