NEGROS Occidental Police Director Milko Lirazan warned candidates for the 2013 elections against giving in to the demands of rebels to campaign in their stronghold areas in the province.
Lirazan cautioned the candidates running in the coming 2013 local elections against this practice and urged candidates, who may have received letters from the rebels, to report immediately to the authorities.
He confirmed that the New People’s Army (NPA) rebels, especially those in the hinterlands, tend to issue the permit to campaign letters to prospective candidates.
“If it is proven, the candidate can face disqualification,” Lirazan said.
