A BUSINESSMAN is now facing charges after he killed a minor who tried to rob his apartment in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City last Saturday.
Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) spokesperson Santiago Rapiz said Monday that the Women and Children Complaints Desk (WCCD) is now preparing charges against Harry Uy, 45, a businessman and a resident of Hervias Uno, Barangay Villamonte.
Rapiz said they will determine if the charge against the suspect will be murder or homicide.
He said Uy killed a certain “Balong,” 14 years old and resident of Purok Araw, Barangay Estefania, Bacolod.
Investigation showed that around 4:30 a.m., Uy shot the minor at the back after he saw him fleeing from the compound of his apartment bringing assorted items.
Rapiz said the minor was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital but was later declared dead by his attending physician.
Police recovered from the possession of the minor one unit of Portable Play Station, assorted t-shirts and slippers.
Rapiz said the minor has pending records at the BCPO for theft and is a regular detainee at the Social Development Center. Based on the records, the minor used different names.
Rapiz said Uy voluntarily surrendered to Station 4, bringing the .45 caliber firearm with expired license and two empty .45 caliber shells. He was also released after posting his bail. (MAP)
