Paglumotan: Sayson can survive test

GRUPO Progreso candidate for councilor Alex Paglumotan said he believes that mayoralty candidate Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson can survive the test put up by his own relative Julius Sayson.
Paglumotan shared his experience in 2009 when he was running for councilor that a certain Alex Castiller Paglumotan also ran for the same post he sought.
He said it had a demoralizing effect on his part since he never expected that a namesake will come out and file his candidacy, but he filed a case to declare the other Paglumotan as a nuisance candidate.
He said that he sought help in filing the disqualification case from lawyer Sonny Petierre, City Permit and Licensing Division head in Bacolod City.
He said it took the Commission on Election (Comelec) several months to decide on the matter but he added, “We succeeded in excluding the other Paglumotan from the roster of candidates.”
Paglumotan said that there is a malicious intent why Julius Sayson filed his candidacy paper five minutes before 5 p.m. October 5, last day of COC filing. (Carla N. Canet)
