A PEDICAB driver was killed when he was stabbed by his colleague at Mercedez Street, Barangay 40, Bacolod City Monday afternoon because of misunderstanding.
Station 6 chief Noel Polines identified the victim as Victor Dejillo, 42, a pedicab driver and resident of Barangay 29, Bacolod.
Polines said Dejillo sustained two stab wounds in his right and left chest after he was stabbed with an ice pick by a certain Telesporo Urbano, also a pedicab driver, because of a misunderstanding.
Investigation showed at 3 p.m., while Dejillo and Urbano parked their pedicabs along Mercedez Street, they became engaged in a heated argument that resulted in the stabbing incident.
Polines said the victim was immediately rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by his attending physician.
He said Urbano also immediately fled after the accident, bringing along the ice pick used in killing the victim.
Polines added they are still conducting a follow-up operation to apprehend the suspect. (Merlinda A. Pedrosa)
