Bacolod chosen as Top 3 Kalasag national awardee

THE City of Bacolod was chosen as the Top 3 Kalasag national awardee and champion in Western Visayas region, said Joemarie Vargas, City Risk Reduction Management head.
Bacolod also won the same award in 2009 due to the response system. But this year, it is due to the city's flood control and earthquake preparedness program of the city.
This year's evaluation is very strict but Bacolod still got a good rating from the Office of the Civil Defense in Manila.
There are trophies and cash prize for the winners, said Vargas.
This year's champion is the City of Makati, while Butuan City, which is the regional center in Karaga, placed second.
The awarding rites were held at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City. (CNC)
