Capitol's blood bank to be operational on December

GOVERNOR Alfredo Marañon Jr. confirmed that the provincial blood bank, which is one of the most modern and will be a model of the Department of Health, will be operational this coming December.
The building, which is provided by the Provincial Government, is already completed. It is located at the Capitol property in Barangay 39, Bacolod City.
The building is worth P24 million and is called the Negros Occidental Blood Center.
The equipment from the blood bank at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital will be transferred to the provincial blood bank.
Marañon said the Provincial Government will also provide 20 employees for the blood bank that will include pathologists, medical assistants, technicians and personnel.
A blood bank is a cache or bank of blood or blood components, gathered as a result of blood donation, stored and preserved for later use in blood transfusion. (TDE)
