Puentevella: Spare me from Julius

MAYORALTY candidate Monico Puentevella earlier asked his political detractors to spare him from the controversy of Julius Sayson, also a mayoralty candidate and a namesake and relative of NPC Grupo Progreso mayoralty candidate Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson.

Puentevella, who is running under the Partido Magbinuligay Kita sa Kauswagan party (MKK), said he has nothing to do with the candidacy of Julius Sayson.

"I don't need this gimmick because I am handling my candidacy well. I also pity Ramon Viva who was also dragged into this controversy as his health would not permit him from engaging in this political act," he said.

He also said that he is a new Monico who wanted to elevate the level of campaign which is issue-based and not on personalities.

Puentevella added that there is no reason for him and the vice mayor to engage in verbal exchanges when the vice mayor just started his political career.

He urged the Sayson family to address this matter within their circle which is better for all.

He said that he is worried about Julius because whatever may happen to him will also link either him or Sayson, adding that it will only benefit those who are behind Julius.

"They should not link me on this matter because I don't know about this and I have nothing to benefit from this," he said.
