COMMISSION on Elections (Comelec) Negros Occidental supervisor lawyer Jessie Suarez confirmed Monday that Victorias City mayoralty bet Mark Ledesma Palanca has withdrawn his candidacy.
Palance, son of Victorias City Mayor Severo Palanca, is supposed to be running against his cousin, Vice Mayor Wantan Palanca.
With his withdrawal, the mayoralty race in the city will be a three-cornered fight between Wantan Palanca, Felix Montinola and Nity Sta. Ana Bartolome.
Incumbent Mayor Severo Palanca is running for vice mayor.
Nazario Ibañez, a candidate for councilor in Cadiz City, has also withdrawn his candidacy.
Suarez said he already submitted the names of candidates who withdrew their candidacies before the Comelec central office in Manila. (TDE)
