Villar backs Bangsamoro framework agreement

FORMER Las Pinas representative Cynthia Villar supported the framework agreement between the government and Moro Islamic Liberation Front that was signed in Malacañang on Monday.
Villar said the deal, which seeks to create a Bangsamoro entity, could hopefully give lasting peace in whole Mindanao.
"It's just a framework anyway that would replace the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Armm)," she said.
Villar was in Bacolod City Sunday night. She was guest speaker during the Sampaguita Lions Club Induction of new sets of officers and members held at the Sugarland Hotel.
Villar said there are some questions raised by the Moro National Liberation Front but she hopes that the government would address them.
She said there are only some areas in Mindanao where peace and order remains a problem like in Basilan and Sulu, but some other areas in Mindanao are generally peaceful.
Meanwhile, Villar, who is a senatorial candidate of the Nacionalista Party and executive director of the Villar Foundation, said the foundation is set to hold an OFW summit on November 22 dubbed as “Go Negosyo.”
In the previous OFW summit, Villar said that more than 5,000 overseas Filipino workers and their families participated.
The summit, Villar said, is an opportunity for OFWs and their families to start their own small business.
The Villar Foundation has already helped hundreds of OFWs and their families. (TDE)
