Passenger killed, driver hurt in road mishap

A TRICYCLE passenger was killed while the driver was injured when their tricycle was hit by a Toyota Corolla vehicle at Lacson Street, Bacolod City Tuesday morning.
The police identified the fatality as Jesseca Tabunares of E.B Magalona town, Negros Occidental; while the driver was identified as Wilfredo Algarme, 56, of Purok Bayanihan, Homesite, Bacolod City.
Investigation showed at about 5:45 a.m., while Algarme was driving his tricycle together with his passenger Tabunares, they were hit by the car driven by Enrique Fuentebaja, 27, of Garden Ville, Barangay Tangub, Bacolod.
Go said the tricycle was hit when the car overtake the tricycle.
Tabunares and Algarme were brought by Puentabaja to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for medical treatment but at about 6:50 a.m., Tabunares was declared dead by her attending physician.
Go added Puentabaja also voluntarily surrendered to Station 2.
