Carnap suspect nabbed

A CARNAP suspect with pending arrest warrant was nabbed by operatives of Special Operations Group (SOG) at Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City Wednesday afternoon.
Police Superintendent Santiago Rapiz, SOG head, identified the suspect as Jessie Boy Rivera, 33, of Purok Bantud, Barangay Pahanocoy who was arrested at 12:10 pm.
Rapiz said Rivera was arrested by virtue of arrest warrant for violation of Republic Act 6539 or Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972 issued by Judge Eliseo Geolingo of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 46, Bacolod City with P180,000 bail recommended for his temporary liberty.
The suspect is presently detained at the lock up cell of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) headquarters.
On the other hand, the BCPO Task Force Manhunt also served the arrest warrant of the suspect presently detained at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City Tuesday.
Rapiz said the arrest warrant was served to Kathyline Garcia, 39, of Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City for violation of Section 11 of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002.
The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Edgar Garvilles of RTC-Branch 47, Bacolod City with no bail recommended. (Merlinda A. Pedrosa)
