TWO police officers who were allegedly protecting illegal drugs in Silay City are also involved in the illegal drug trade in Bacolod City, an official said.
City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (CAIDSOTG) head Santiago Rapiz Wednesday said, after the apprehension of the “shabu queen” in Bacolod City, they received information that police officers from Silay City are the protectors of drug pushers of the same city.
Rapiz said they informed Silay City Philippine National Police (PNP) Police Superintendent Rosauro Francisco to confirm the said information to identify the said police officers.
The two police officers, according to Francisco, are members of the 3rd Maneuver Company of the 6th Regional Public Safety Battalion in Barangay E. Lopez, Silay City who were already disarmed and restricted at their headquarters.
They were restricted after the apprehension of Rodrigo de la Cruz, who was arrested in buy-bust operation by Silay City PNP in Barangay E. Lopez last Tuesday.
Rapiz added the suspect claimed the said police officers used him to sell the illegal drugs in Silay City.
Rapiz said he’s very thankful for the action of Francisco to identify the said police officers.
He believed the said the police officers served illegal drugs not only in Silay City but also in Bacolod City.
Rapiz assured they will intensify their campaign against illegal drugs in different areas of Bacolod City. (Merlinda A. Pedrosa)
