Barangay 17 wins MassKara street dance-A A +A

THE Silver MassKara Festival Organization Inc. has adjudged Barangay 17 as this year's MassKara festival street dance competition champion, besting 14 other barangay contingents.
The champion will receive P100,00O as grand prize.
Contingents of Barangay Cabug placed first runner-up and will receive P75,000, followed by Barangay 6 as second runner-up with P50,000 prize, and Barangay 32 as 3rd placer to receive P30,000.
Barangay Alijis was named Best in Costume, while Barangay 17 was named Best in Mask, Choreography, and Best in Concept.
Participants in the street dance include Barangays 29, 11, 39, Felisa, 3, 31, 37, Cabug, 26, 6, 32, 21, Alijis and 17.
Meanwhile, Bacolod City Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia thanked the Bacolodnons for showing an unprecedented cooperation that brought the MassKara festival in the world tourism map.
He said the festival has become a highly successful festival due to the cooperation shown by the people.
He said the MassKara festival has become a uniting factor of Bacolodnons.
Eli Francis Tajanlangit, festival director, also thanked the Lord for giving them good weather.
"We met our objectives that this festival will be memorable that raised the bar some more. We thanked the heavens for giving us good weather that we enjoyed in the last 21 days. The good weather is something good that God has given us and we have to thank God for that," he said.
He also thanked everybody in Bacolod from the City Government officials to the ordinary citizens in the city who cooperated in making the festival truly a success and helped showed to the world that life is good in Bacolod.
The awarding of all the winners will be done at the closing ceremonies to be held at the public plaza today.
