BACOLOD City Councilor Sonya Verdeflor has asked the Silver MassKara Festival Organization Inc. to ensure the full restoration of the aesthetics of the Bacolod Public Plaza, which was used as a festival site of the 33rd MassKara Festival.
The Bacolod City Public Plaza, a historical landmark of the city, was used as one of the festival sites of the recently concluded MassKara Festival.
Verdeflor said the Bacolod Public Plaza was the venue of several events in the 33rd MassKara Festival celebrated from October 1 to 22. Events included the street dance and arena competitions, street parties, nightly MassKara inter-barangay talent competition, and the LCC ARFIEN MassKara puppet parade, among others.
She said the aesthetics of the Bacolod Public Plaza, particularly its beauty, artistry, greeneries and sanitation, was subjected to deterioration in view of the thousands of revelers that used the venue during the three-week MassKara Festival celebration.
It is imperative for the SMFOI as the festival's organizer, to initiate the full restoration of the Bacolod Public Plaza to its original state, considering that it has just undergone rehabilitation and beautification by the city's general services office, she said. (CNC)
