BACOLOD City Representative Anthony Golez, Jr. (lone district) cried foul on spread of the kissing photo and sex video allegedly involving him and former beauty queen Jewel Mae Lobaton.

Golez is married to Princess Soraya Jaafar while Lobaton is married to Senator Koko Pimentel but both couples are facilitating the annulment of their respective marriages.

Golez and Lobaton denied having a serious relationship but instead admitted that they are ‘special friends’.

Golez said he is a victim of a cybercrime, thus he advocates on the implementation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 which will protect Filipinos from cybercrimes.

"I know that Bacolodnons are aware that, for the past few weeks, I am being hounded by threats and scare tactics of the release of comprising pictures and videos. People have even created a scenario that I should just withdraw from the congressional race for the Lone Congressional District, or else they will humiliate me with the release of the comprising pictures and videos,” said Golez.

“It is really sad that people have resorted to these tactics but I am not afraid of them because I know our laws that protect Filipinos against such crimes and I also know that I have not committed any crime. Bacolodnons should also note that my opponent is resorting to below-the-belt tactics because I have an untainted public service record," he defended himself.

He added that when he filed his certificate of candidacy to seek permission from Bacolodnons to be their representative in Congress for 2013, he presented his clearance from the Ombudsman which he considered as the best evidence that he has not and will not be involved in any anomaly while serving the people of Bacolod City.

"What I am afraid of is the possible atrocities that these kinds of evil lions can do to ordinary Bacolodnons. If these evil lions can do this to a member of the House of Representatives, they will be more emboldened to harass, intimidate, oppress, and continue to use Bacolodnons as their prey.

“I pray for a better Bacolod City. I am taking action for a better Bacolod City. It is true that life is good in Bacolod City but not for everyone. It is good to the evil lions who prey on the resources of Bacolod City. The people of Bacolod City deserve better leadership. They deserve honorable and dignified representation," he said.

Golez conducted a press conference at the National Bureau of Investigation office in Bacolod Thursday, as he will be allocating a portion of his Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) improve its capabilities in fighting crimes.

He believes that the NBI, being a premier office in crime investigation, deserves the help so that they can be properly equipped.

The NBI officials led by lawyer Ferdinand Lavin, NBI Bacolod head, believe that the people should be aptly protected from cybercrimes. Although the law needs fine tuning, its intention and purpose are for the protection of the public, they said.

The NBI will be setting up a division that will be capable of protecting Filipinos against crimes in the internet.
