CANON Marketing Philippines, Inc. will hold the Visayas Leg of the “Photomarathon” contest today, Saturday, at the Planta Centro Hotel, Bacolod City, an official of the Regional Operations said.
Ryan Esguerra, Regional Operations office, said about 200 photographers are expected to join the photo contest today. The event is open to all Canon users with no age limit.
He said the registration will start at 6 a.m. and it’s a whole day activity. The participants were advised to bring their Canon cameras, such as point–and-shot and Digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras.
Esguerra explained the participants will capture images based on the themes given during the event.
Esguerra said the Photomarathon is a yearly on-the-spot competition of Canon and is considered as the biggest and largest on-the-spot photo contest in the Philippines.
He said the event will gather photographers not only from Bacolod City but also from Cebu and Iloilo cities.
The Visayas Leg Photomarathan is a first time the activity is held in Bacolod City, where they observed that numerous Negrenses are using Canon cameras, he said.
The photos will be judged by Canon ambassadors from Manila, and some officials of Canon Marketing Philippines, Inc. are also expected to grace the event.
“We want to build a nation through photographs. This is the chance of the photographers to show their talents,” he stressed. (Merlinda A. Pedrosa)
