The turnover ceremonies will be presided by Major General Jose Mabanta, commanding general of the 3rd Infantry Division.
Sosmena, who was assigned as commanding officer of the 47th Infantry Battalion for exactly two years and two months, is set to assume as commandant of the Army training school in the 3rd Infantry Division headquarters in Camp Peralta, Jamindan, Capiz.
The 47th IB under the leadership of Sosmena was cited for the improved peace and order situation in the southern part of the province.
The areas under the said unit include the city of Kabankalan, Cauayan, Candoni, Ilog, Hinobaan and Sipalay City.
It has also reduced the number of armed New People's Army rebels operating in the area, as well as increased the number of rebels who returned to mainstream society. (TDE)
