4 chiefs of police up for revamp
-A A +AWednesday, January 9, 2013
SENIOR Superintendent Milko Lirazan, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office director, said Tuesday that four chiefs of police in the province are up for reassignment during the start of the election period.
Lirazan refused, however, to name the police chiefs and their areas that will be revamped.
He said two police chiefs will be reassigned because of poor performance in their present assignments, while the two others are subject to complaints of their alleged biases in line with the coming elections.
Lirazan, meantime, reminded all Negrenses about the start of the election period on Sunday, January 13.
The start of the election gun ban will also start on January 13. Only police and military personnel wearing complete uniforms are allowed to carry their firearms in public places.
The police and military will be under the deputization of the Commission on Election at the start of the election period.
Checkpoints will also be set up starting Sunday, Lirazan added. (TDE)
