SENIOR Superintendent Milko Lizaran, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Noppo) director, revealed the names of police chiefs who are affected by the first wave of the police revamp, per order from the Police Regional Office.
Those who were relieved from their posts effective Thursday, according to Lirazan, were Superintendent (Supt.) Leo Batilis who was relieved from the Escalante City Police Office and he will be replaced by Supt. Jefferson Descallar who is currently the chief of the operations branch of Noppo.
Supt. Antonio Canete will be replaced by Supt. Simeon Gane as the Chief of Police of the Himamaylan Police Office while Inspector Allan Relo was replaced by Senior Inspector Rolly Pontevilla as the new chief of Calatrava Police Office.
Lirazan said that the revamp will be ongoing, per communication from the regional office.
Earlier he said that those who will be affected by the revamp were subjected to complaints of being biased in terms of their affiliation for the coming May elections while others have poor performance in their area of jurisdiction.
Lirazan and the police chiefs of all towns and cities in the province paid a yearly courtesy call on Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. on Thursday.
Lirazan said that the governor has reiterated his order for the police to concentrate more on the campaign against illegal gambling.
He said that illegal gambling was already contained in some areas but continue to proliferate in Northern Negros.
