SENIOR Superintendent Celestino Guara, designated officer-in-charge of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Noppo), assured that the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the province will remain non-partisan, as far as the May 13, 2013 elections is concerned.
He said this directive has been disseminated to the police forces in the province.
"This is a national directive from the PNP higher ups," Guara stressed.
As to his new post, Guara said he is not serving as acting provincial director or officer-in-charge of the Noppo but was only designated as caretaker for the duration of the election period.
Guarra previously served as police director of the Bacolod City Police Office prior to the designation of Senior Superintendent Ricardo Dela Paz, who has already served his two-years tour of duty and was recently re-assigned to Police Regional Office in Iloilo. (Teresa D. Ellera)
