BACOLOD City Councilor Caesar Z. Distrito, chairman of the City Council Committee on Laws, Ordinances and Good Government, sponsored the passage of an ordinance extending the deadline of the "one stop shop" for the processing of business permits until February 15, 2013.
This was granted by the Council upon the request of Mayor Evelio Leonardia to extend the deadline of the program which was supposed to end last January 15, 2013.
"The request of the Mayor is actually to extend it only until January 31, 2013 but we at the Sangguniang Panlungsod (City Council) find it more convenient for the applicants to extend it until February 15, 2013," Distrito said.
According to the letter request of Leonardia, the Office of Permits and Licenses projects that the business permits application for 2013 will be at 19,500.
As of January 11, 2013, the total applications which were processed numbered only 6,672 as a result of the delayed implementation of City Ordinance 627, an ordinance which amended certain provisions in the Revised Revenue Code of the city.
