Bizmen urged to nix fixers, process own permits-A A +A
Saturday, January 19, 2013
METRO Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Frank Carbon urged his fellow businessmen that to avoid a situation of having a fake business permits, they should assign a staff to process their own business permits and do away with the assistance of fixers.
Although he understands that others do not want to complicate their lives in wasting time to wait for a long line in processing their permits where some engaged the services of the fixers, it would be better to ask a trusted person to apply for it in behalf of the owner.
They can also go to the Office of Atty. Sonny Petierre, Permits and Licensing Head, to authenticate the permit issued to them to make sure that their permits are original.
There is a one stop shop at the Bacolod Government Center so that the business community can process their permits fast and conveniently.
Petierre also agreed with Carbon’s suggestion and he assured that his office will assist in the authentication of the permits issued.
This came after the city permits and licensing office found a fake permit obtained by an operator of a common carrier in the City of Bacolod. The fake permit prompted an investigation.
The public are warned of this and should take measure to avoid being victimized by unscrupulous individuals.
