Guv tells police chief: Don't take sides on May polls

GOVERNOR Alfredo Marañon Jr. tells the new caretaker of the Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (Noppo) not to take sides in the May 13 elections.
Marañon told Senior Supt. Celestino Guara when he paid a courtesy call at the governor's office after Guara was installed as Noppo director.
The governor said he ordered the police to make sure of a peaceful, clean and honest elections.
Guara took over as Noppo director after the relief of Senior Superintendent Milko Lirazan. The re-shuffling of the police is in line with the forthcoming May 13 senatorial and local elections.
