100 cops to help during Bacolaodiat Festival-A A +A

ABOUT 100 police personnel from the Regional Public Safety Battalion- Western Visayas were assigned in Bacolod City to augment the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) during the Bacolaodiat Festival starting February 7.
Bacolod City Police Officer-in-Charge Edgardo Ordaniel said Tuesday Western Visayas Police Regional Director Agrimero Cruz earlier approved the request of BCPO for additional PNP personnel during the celebration to ensure the peace and order in the city.
He said the PNP reinforcement will report to BCPO Wednesday for the final briefing and to get their assignments. The said personnel will stay in Bacolod until February 10.
Aside from the RPSB members, Ordaniel said they will also tap the force multipliers to help city police maintain peace and order in the main festival site along Lacson Street.
He said about 87 traffic enforcers will also be deployed in Lacson Street to ensure the smooth flow of traffic during the celebration.
Ordaniel pointed out that, during the Bacolaodiat Festival celebration, a total of 350 personnel from BCPO, RPSB, force multipliers and traffic enforcers will be deployed in different areas of Lacson Street.
Ordaniel also ordered Station 2 chief Robert Dejucos to intensify their visibility patrol during the Bacolaodiat.
