Vice mayor twits ex-councilor on North Terminal

VICE Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, chairman of the Bacolod Traffic Management Council, scored former councilor Wilson Gamboa Jr. for claiming that the Bacolod North Terminal is operating illegally.
According to Sayson, the former councilor should know better, as he himself authored City Ordinance (CO) 480, establishing the north terminal along the national highway, during his tenure as chairman of the City Council committee on transportation.
He said if Gamboa thinks that the terminal is operating illegally or was illegally established, he should have go to court and sue the city for establishing it.
The vice mayor also said he has no idea that the terminal operator had increased its terminal fee, which definitely is a violation, since any move to hike terminal fees as defined under CO 480 should first get authorization from the City Council.
Sayson said the timing of the action or "howl" of Gamboa is very susceptible as he waited for the start of the political session to raise the issue.
If he is serious in his bid to question the operation of the north terminal, he should have filed cases long ago and not only now, Sayson added.
The vice mayor also said that the awarding of the terminal operation to Crispin Chua was above board, as a bidding process was undertaken but there was only one bidder, which happens to be the current operator. (CNC)
